Yes, it's summer! The sun, the flowers, the heat and a horrible cold! If, like me, you are suffering from stuffy nose, runny eyes, cough and a sore throat, it rather takes the wind out of the summer sails.
While colds are viruses and not 'treatable', there are a few natural remedies you can try to make your life a little easier.
To help with breathing at night, try a couple of drops of Ravintsara essential oil (Cinnamonum camphora) on a handkerchief or piece of kitchen paper place near (not in) your bed.
To help with stuffy or runny noses, put 1 of Ravintsara and 1 drop of Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) essential oils in a bowl of very hot (not boiling) water. Put your face above the bowl and a towel over your head and breathe deeply. This will also help if you have a cough.
CAUTION: be careful not to get too close to the water to avoid burns and keep your eyes closed!
I hope this helps a little! x
